FORC Study of 3D Printed NdFeB Samples

First Order Reversal Curve Study of 3D Printed NdFeB

Learn about characterizing additively
manufactured permanent magnets

This application note discusses the use of first-order reversal curve (FORC) measurements and vibrating sample magnetometry for characterizing additively manufactured permanent magnet materials. Co-authored by Lake Shore scientists and Univ. of Nebraska – Lincoln researchers, the note explains how FORC analysis, combined with Lake Shore 8600 Series VSM measurements, can be used to gain insights into interactions occurring specifically in sintered and 3D printed NdFeB samples — characteristics that depart meaningfully from those of conventionally processed materials.
