In this application note, we present low-temperature Model 8600 VSM measurement results for Bi2223 HTS tape and Y123 solid samples, demonstrating the utility of vibrating sample magnetometry for non-contact HTS material characterization. This study involved magnetization measurements as a function of temperature and magnetic field to determine the transition temperature Tc and critical current density Jc of the samples.
